The Journey for Zeus’ Lightning Bolt Begins in Percy Jackson and the Olympians Teaser Trailer

Disney+ has released the first teaser trailer for the new Percy Jackson and the Olympians series starring Walker Scobell as Percy Jackson, Aryan Simhadri as Grover Underwood, and Leah Jeffries as Annabeth Chase.

Based on the book series by Rick Riordan, the new adaptation follows Percy, a 12-year-old boy who finds out he’s a modern demi-god. After being accused of stealing the greek god Zeus’s lightening bolt, Percy, along with his friends Grover and Annabeth, must track it down in order to restore Olympus. Throughout the teaser, fans will notice familiar characters like Mrs. Dodds and villains like the Minotaur and Medusa. We see Percy struggle with bullies and dyslexia, but, when he finds out that the stories his mom told him of Camp Half-Blood and the Greek gods are true, he has a newfound responsibility to uphold and power to learn.

Percy Jackson and the Olympians season one will adapt Riordan’s first book in its series, The Lightning Thief.

The first two episodes of the eight episode season of Percy Jackson and the Olympians premiere on December 20 on Disney+.
