From The Residence to F*** Marry Kill, Should You Add These To Your Watchlist?

From an eccentric murder mystery to a killer romance, here’s what to add to your watchlist.

The Residence

In The Residence, The White House goes on full lockdown during an exclusive State Dinner when Chief Usher A.B. Wynter (Giancarlo Esposito) is murdered. With over 100 guests and several rooms to search through, eccentric detective Cordelia Cupp (Uzo Aduba) is the only person who can crack the case.

Among all the political murder mysteries released lately, The Residence stands out in its quirky nature. Aduba portrays a highly respected, bird loving, and quick-witted detective and uses her interests to help make sense of the people she’s questioning. It’s a trait that I loved watching as she catches when others are lying. The cast is star-studded for a reason as Edwina Findley, Randall Park, Ken Marino, and more are incredibly compelling and a delight to watch. At times, you might feel a bit frazzled with all the lies and timelines thrown at you, but it does get broken down nicely and the payoff is worth it.

The Residence is out now on Netflix

F*** Marry Kill

Eve (Lucy Hale) is reentering the dating scene, but — with a massive online dating serial killer on the loose — she begins to believe one of the three men she’s dating could possibly be The Swipe Right Killer.

F*** Marry Kill is a fun watch for a girls night in. While it’s a bit cliché and not as thrilling as I wanted it to be, the ensemble cast and Hale’s charismatic nature make it enjoyable enough. It was engaging to watch how Eve switches back and forth between the men she’s dating as more details of the serial killer’s depictions are released. I love a theorizing moment and it will definitely be enjoyable with a group of friends.

F*** Marry Kill is out in theaters now.
